“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalm 92:12-13, NIV) The yellow spaces of the painting resemble rows of trees, yet also evoke their reflections on the ice of a winter night, revealing a beauty that is both hazy and profound. The fragmented yet harmonious dialogue between sky and earth conveys a quiet but persistent sense of life. Like the “righteous” described in Scripture, these trees are rooted in the presence of God, thriving and growing strong regardless of the severity of the season. The reflections on the ice remind us that heavenly life, though not always clearly mirrored on earth, is nonetheless real and continues to reveal God’s glory in silence. Just as a forest stands together in mutual support, the community of God’s people upholds one another in faith, bearing witness to His grace. The winter night becomes a symbol of the spiritual seasons of cold—when all seems still, God’s life-giving power remains at work in hidden ways, sustaining and nourishing us until the time of harvest.
